About Spaak

A bike repair shop in an old cycle shop, where the door is open to anyone who can’t ride any further for now.

The cycle shop

Spaak is a bike repair shop with two mechanics and one long workbench. Thirza started in 2014 in the old cycle shop on Voorbeeldstraat, and Merijn joined in 2019. We repair everything that rides around Voorbeeldstad, from granny bike to cargo bike, and we tell you honestly when something isn’t worth it any more.

The building on Voorbeeldstraat has been a bike shop for almost a hundred years. When the previous owner stopped, Thirza took over the workbench, along with the tool wall and the tyre tub. The bikes still hang from hooks on the ceiling.

We don’t sell new bikes. All our time goes into repairs. So your bike never has to wait behind a sale.

“You don’t notice a well-adjusted bike. That’s what we do it for.”
