Classic Italian dining room in the evening: white tablecloths, crystal wine glasses, dark wooden panelling, candlelight and warm dimmed wall lights, no people

Ristorante in Voorbeeldstad since 1994

Fresh pasta every morning, time every evening

Family restaurant Calvani cooks the classic food of northern Italy: handmade pasta, risotto, slow-braised secondi and a cellar of 240 Italian wines. In the centre of Voorbeeldstad, since 1994.

Open tonight from 18:00 · kitchen until 21:30

La cucina the kitchen

The cooking of the Po valley, from Piemonte to Emilia

Butter instead of olive oil, rice alongside pasta and sauces that are given hours. That is how Paolo cooked in 1994, and how his son Matteo cooks now.

Every morning we make six kinds of pasta, with eggs from a farmer just outside town and flour from Italy. By evening it is all gone. So tomorrow the menu may look slightly different.

La cantina the wine cellar

240 wines, nearly all from small growers

Every spring Giulia drives round the vineyards in Piemonte, Toscana and beyond. What moves her goes into the cellar. So you won’t drink any wine here that you can also find in the supermarket.

A glass starts at €7, a bottle at €34. Not sure? Tell us what you are eating and what you like: Giulia will pour you a sip first.
