Learned the trade from an old master
After painting college I spent five years with a painter who had three staff. He showed me that most of the work is in what you don't see later: sanding, filling, getting the wood dry. In 2014 I started my own business.
I still work that way. Not a crew that's here today and somewhere else tomorrow, but me. In the exterior season Lex paints with me, my regular mate for eight years now. I don't take on big facades or owners' associations. That leaves time for the jobs I do take.

Photo and measurements
You send a picture or use the form. For interior work that's usually enough.

Price and week
A working day later you have the price per item and a start week. For exterior work I come and look first, free.

Choosing the colour
You give me a RAL number or colour code. If you're unsure, we put a test patch on the wall.

Covering and prep work
Day one is covering, masking, filling and sanding. That's the difference between neat and spot-on.

Painting
Two coats, letting the first dry properly. Every afternoon I leave the room tidy.

Checking together
We go over everything together with a lamp. Anything that isn't right, I redo straight away. Only then do you pay.

What I bring
The prep work decides how good the paint looks. That's why I have kit that limits dust and smell, even while you're at home.
