One room, one pair of hands

I'm Esmee, beauty therapist and the hands behind Studio Glans. I work alone, in one treatment room. That's a deliberate choice: no chatter in the hallway, no rushing between two clients. You're the only one.

I trained as a beauty therapist and worked for six years at a large salon. That's where I learned the trade, but I missed the calm. Always a next client, always a door opening and closing. In 2018 I started on my own, in an old shop building on Voorbeeldstraat.

I furnished the studio myself: limestone walls, linen, a heated bed and a lamp that doesn't shine in your eyes. There's one treatment room and a small waiting corner with tea. Nothing more is needed.

Qualifications and membership

• Beauty therapist diploma (MBO level 4)
• Member of ANBOS, the trade association for beauty therapists
• Certified lash and brow stylist
• Training in hot stone and relaxing massage
• Further training every year, this year hands-on facial massage

What I work with

Skincare from a Dutch brand, without perfume and without unnecessary additives. Massage oil based on sweet almond, neutral or with a hint of neroli. Towels and sheets of linen and cotton.
