Three roofs from this spring: what was leaking, what we did, the number of days and the bill.

1930s house, new tiled roof

The old roof leaked at the valley gutter. Now there's an insulated roof with red clay tiles.

The residents saw a damp patch in the loft that kept getting bigger. The inspection showed the valley gutter had rusted through and the membrane under the tiles was worn. We did the roof in two halves, so one side was closed every evening. The old tiles were sorted: the good ones are now on the shed.

Flat roof of an extension with new bitumen covering with grey slate chippings and a roof dome, seen from above, the last rain patches dryingVoorbeeldstraat

Extension with bitumen and roof dome

A roof that held water after every shower, now with a fall and a new roof dome.

After a shower there was a puddle about three centimetres deep. No roof covering lasts long with that. We removed the old layers, laid tapered insulation and torched on two layers of bitumen. The roof dome was replaced with a double-glazed one.

Zinc box gutters on a town house

Two leaking box gutters on the street side, remade in zinc and soldered on site.

The gutters had been repaired with sealant once, and then again. We restored the timber gutter base, fitted new zinc and soldered all the seams. The wall below is now dry for the first time in years.
