Come and sit
at the workbench.

A first appointment takes an hour and costs nothing. Write down in two or three sentences what you have in mind. By the second day after, I’ll send you a few possible times.

Often asked at the workbench

Can I just drop in?

Better not. At the workbench I work with fire and tiny stones, so I work by appointment. A message is enough; often you’re at the bench the same week.

What does a first appointment cost?

Nothing. You sit at the workbench for an hour, we look at materials and stones, and afterwards you get a sketch with the final price on it.

When should I start?

A ring takes four to six weeks. Getting married? Then come about three months before the big day, so there’s time for fittings.

What happens to my old gold?

You watch it being weighed and tested. I melt it in my own studio and work it into your piece. So you really do get your own gold back.

What if my gold isn’t enough?

Then I top it up with Fairmined gold of the same fineness, at the day’s price. That’s in your price from the start.

Can a ring be made bigger later?

Yes, usually by one or two sizes. Plain rings are easiest. With a row of stones all round, I first check what’s possible.

Is my jewellery hallmarked?

Yes. Inside is my maker’s mark, the bullfinch, and the fineness. Gold pieces above the legal threshold go to WaarborgHolland (the Dutch assay office) for the hallmark.
