Send a photo of your window
A photo tells us more than a long description. You’ll soon hear whether the lead is worn out, and roughly what the job will cost.

Frequently asked questions
What we often hear at the light table
How do I know if my window needs re-leading?
Is the panel bulging, does it rattle in the wind, can you see light between lead and glass, or is there white powder on the lead? Then the lead is worn out. We can tell from a single photo.
Will I lose my old glass?
No. We keep every piece and put it back in the same place. We only replace what is broken, with old glass of the same colour and thickness.
How long will my window be gone?
Allow two to four weeks. In the meantime there’s a temporary pane in place, so your house stays closed up.
Is this allowed in a listed building?
Yes. The URL 4002 Glaspanelen-in-lood guideline (the Dutch standard for leaded glass restoration) is our starting point, and every intervention can be reversed. For a national monument we agree it with the council beforehand.
Which is better: secondary glazing or insulated glass?
The rebate and the frame decide. Secondary glazing is the simplest and cheapest. In insulated glass it looks neatest from outside. We come to measure and advise.
Do you also make something from my own idea?
Gladly. Bring a drawing, photo or colour. Charlotte turns it into a sketch and then a full-size cartoon.
Is working with lead safe in the workshop?
Yes, if you follow the rules. You wear gloves, we don’t eat or drink at the work table and you wash your hands afterwards. The workshops are for ages 16 and up.
