who is huppel

About Huppel

Three children’s physiotherapists (two women and a man, in their thirties) sit relaxed on a blue gym mat in the gym, wall bars behind them, sunlight from the side
3children’s physiotherapists, each with their own age group.
why huppel

Children learn by moving. Not by sitting still.

“A child who wobbles sometimes falls. That is how they learn. I want children here to enjoy moving again, and parents to go home with something they can do tomorrow.”

Bianca Cremers, owner

Huppel started as a room with a mat and a ball. Now we have our own gym, a writing corner and three therapists. We keep it small on purpose: your child always sees the same therapist, and you always speak to the same person.

the team

Who sees your child in the gym.

  • Bianca Cremers

    Children’s physiotherapist MSc, owner

Babies and young children. Has worked with children since 2009 and visits the littlest ones at home.

  • Gwen Lammers

    Children’s physiotherapist

Handwriting and fine motor skills. Spends two days a week at schools in Voorbeeldstad.

  • Anouar Driessen

    Children’s physiotherapist and sports physiotherapist

Young athletes and teenagers. Coaches an under-13 football team himself.

the gym

What is in our gym, and why.

Everything in the gym has a purpose. Your child sees a playground, we see exercises.

  • Wall bars

Climbing, strength in arms and core, and courage.

  • Wobble boards and balance cushions

    Balance and stable ankles.

  • Trampoline in the floor

Jumping, rhythm and jumping power. Safe, with no edge to fall off.

  • Tunnel and soft blocks

    Crawling, planning and spatial awareness.

  • Large exercise balls

    Core, posture and reactions.

  • Writing table at child height

Sitting posture, pen grip and writing, with an adjustable chair.

after school

At half past three the first children stream in. Shoes off, and into the gym.

how we work

How we work.

Every treatment follows the same four steps. After six weeks we look back with you: if things are better, we start to wind down.

  1. 1

    Call or sign up

Call us, or sign your child up online. Without a referral is fine too: then we start with a fifteen-minute screening.

We often speak to you the same afternoon.
  2. 2

    Meeting and observing

Sixty minutes in the gym. We play, watch how your child moves and listen to your questions.

A parent comes along, and brothers or sisters are welcome too.
  3. 3

    Practising in the gym

Usually half an hour a week, for six to ten weeks. You are there and join in.

In the gym, at home or at school.
  4. 4

    At home and at school

You get an exercise card with games. If it helps, we consult the teacher or the coach.

After six weeks we list what is going better.
