RinskeYou don't need green fingers. They come by themselves.
Rinske Weijers worked on an organic market garden for eight years. Now she helps people in and around Voorbeeldstad to their own vegetable garden. She builds beds, makes a plan that suits your garden and teaches you to sow, tend and harvest. No digging, with organic seed.

- sow or plant outdoors
- harvest
For open ground and beds in the central Netherlands. If spring is cold, move everything ten days later.
From chat to first radish
This is how it goes when you call Rinske. One section per step, and in each section things grow a little further.
Chat
At your kitchen table and in your garden. Sun, space and your favourite vegetables are all covered. Free, about forty-five minutes.
Plan
Rinske draws your vegetable garden and makes a sowing calendar: what goes where, and in which month.
Build
In one day the beds are up, the soil is in and the first plants are ready.
Harvest
With the course or a monthly visit you pick your first radish after four weeks.
Rinske WeijersA grower at your kitchen table
“Most people start too big. I always say: start with one bed and eat from it all summer. Next year you put another one next to it.”
Rinske Weijers, moestuinmeester
About Rinske and how she worksFour Saturday mornings in the trial garden, with your hands in the soil. Afterwards you take home seed, a sowing calendar and your first seedlings.
About the courseQuestions from the trial garden
Do I need a lot of space?
No. Two metres of balcony fits lettuce, herbs and a tomato. With one 120 × 120 cm bed you eat lettuce and herbs all summer.
How many hours a week does a vegetable garden take?
Four beds take about thirty minutes a week, a bit more in May and June. Because we don't dig and keep the soil covered, you have few weeds.
When can I start?
Any time. In autumn we build and you plant garlic; in March you start sowing. The course starts in March and in August.
Shall we start together?
A chat at your kitchen table costs nothing. Rinske looks at your garden or balcony and tells you which vegetables want to grow there.
