Do I need a lot of space?
No. Two metres of balcony fits lettuce, herbs and a tomato. With one 120 × 120 cm bed you eat lettuce and herbs all summer.
How many hours a week does a vegetable garden take?
Four beds take about thirty minutes a week, a bit more in May and June. Because we don't dig and keep the soil covered, you have few weeds.
When can I start?
Any time. In autumn we build and you plant garlic; in March you start sowing. The course starts in March and in August.
Why not dig?
Digging mixes up the soil life and brings weed seeds to the surface. We put a layer of compost on top every year. Saves sweat, and the soil gets better each year.
Do you work outside Voorbeeldstad too?
Yes, up to about 25 kilometres. Outside Voorbeeldstad we charge €0.35 per kilometre travel costs.
Can I give the course as a gift?
Yes. The course voucher costs €165 and you can use it for twelve months. It comes in a real seed packet.
