Tree care in Voorbeeldstad · climbers with a European Tree Worker certificate

We workwhere the ladderstops.

Pruning from the rope, sectional felling, a tree safety inspection or a stump that has to go. The price is fixed in advance, and when we drive off there isn't a twig left.

Tree climber in climbing harness and orange helmet hanging from his rope high in the crown of an old English oak, cutting a branch with a small top-handle saw, morning light through the leaves

Crown reduction of an English oak on Voorbeeldlaan. Wietske works here at 19 metres, with two anchor points as soon as the saw starts.

Safety

Cordon off first.
Only then start the saw.

An 18-metre tree easily weighs a few tonnes. Before a single cut is made, we know where it will land, where we'll step and where nobody may stand.

  • 2 × hThe drop zone is twice the tree height. Anyone who doesn't belong there stays outside it.
  • 45°Two escape routes, angled backwards. Clear of branches, buckets and garden hoses.
  • 1/10The hinge steers the tree. About a tenth of the trunk stays as a hinge.

No room to fell? Then we take the tree down in sections, on ropes. How sectional felling works.

Heavy branch hanging from a rope being lowered gently above a shed roof, groundworker in chainsaw trousers holding the lowering rope at the trunk

Nothing falls here.
Everything is lowered.

A branch of about 150 kilos hangs on the rope above the shed roof. Jurre lowers it gently via the lowering device on the trunk.

Tree safety inspection

Is it still sound?

As the owner you're responsible for your tree. After an inspection using the VTA method you get a report like this for each tree: what we saw, how serious it is, what action is needed and when.

  • Crown, trunk and base examined and sounded
  • Photos of every finding
  • Advice with a timeframe, and you're free to have someone else do the pruning

€145 for the first tree, €35 for each additional one at the same address.

Pruning calendar

When is your tree's turn?

Every tree has its own good months. Birch and maple bleed when pruned in spring; cherry and plum prefer after the harvest. Felling is allowed in any season, as long as nothing is nesting.

Who climbs

Two in the tree.
One on the rope.

Nobody ever climbs alone. While Hessel or Wietske is in the crown, Jurre is on the ground: he holds the lowering rope, keeps the work area clear and can get a climber in trouble out of the tree quickly.

A price first, without a visit?

Take a photo of your tree.

Make sure something familiar is in it: the shed, the car or yourself. That tells us enough for a first price. If it checks out after a site visit, it's fixed.
