Stopcock off
Usually in the meter cupboard, close to the water meter. Turn clockwise until it stops. Can't find it? Call, we'll find it together.

Power off if things get wet
If water reaches sockets or lights, switch off that room's circuit in the fuse box. If in doubt, switch everything off.

Catch the water, take photos
Buckets and towels underneath. Photograph the wet patch and the damage: your insurer will ask for it.

Stop using the drain
With a blockage: don't flush again or run the washing machine. That pushes the water up.
