Quote and price
4 questions
What does it cost for Jacco to come and measure?
Nothing. Measuring and costing are free, and only then do you decide.
Can the price still go up?
No. After measuring up, Jacco lists each item separately in the quote, with a price that stands. Extra work is only added if you approve it first.
Is VAT already included in the prices?
Yes, every price on this site includes 21% VAT. For insulating glass in an existing home a lower rate can sometimes apply; we'll work that out for you.
When do I pay?
For large projects in three instalments: at the start, when the work is weathertight and at handover. Small jobs you pay afterwards.
Permission and preparation
3 questions
Do you arrange planning permission?
For an extension or dormer we make the drawing and structural calculation and submit the application. The quote includes a fixed price for that.
How soon can you start?
Small jobs usually within two weeks. For a dormer without planning permission allow six weeks, with permission eight weeks extra.
Do I need to prepare anything?
Clear the space around the work and make sure we can park. For a dormer we arrange the crane and the exemption.
During the work
3 questions
Can we live in the house during the work?
Almost always. We work room by room and close up the work every evening. With an extension, the back wall only opens once the extension itself is closed.
Who is my point of contact?
Jacco, from the survey to the handover. For scheduling you can also call Myrthe.
Do you clear up yourselves?
Yes. Waste goes in the van every day and the work area is left broom-clean.
Guarantee and materials
2 questions
What guarantee do I get?
Five years on structural work such as an extension or dormer. Two years on other work. On window frames and glass, the manufacturer's guarantee comes on top.
What timber do you use?
Hardwood and spruce with an FSC or PEFC stamp. For window frames often meranti or accoya, for stairs and floors oak.
