Lotte & Daan in the orchard

Lotte and Daan married among the apple trees of the orchard where Daan picked fruit as a child. No venue hall, but a long table under the trees, two sheep watching curiously by the gate and an uncle pouring his own cider.

I started at half past ten at Lotte’s home. The tall window in the guest room gave exactly the soft side light you want with a white dress. The ceremony was at half past one; we did the group photos in fifteen minutes by the old barn.

The best light came late. At twenty to nine we walked into the orchard together, the sun just above the dyke. Ten minutes, two rows of trees further, and then quickly back for the first dance.
