From question to first year

  1. 01

    The wish

Zara and Marijn wanted solar panels, but their roof faces east-west. Another installer had told them it was “not worth it”.

  2. 02

    The roof

A classic terraced house with red tiles, equally large on both sides and almost without shade. East-west produces a little less per panel than south, but your power comes spread over the day. That's just what you want when salderen ends.

  3. 03

    The solution

Six panels per roof face and a hybrid inverter, so a battery can be added later without any fuss. The cables run via the ridge to the loft, not down the outside wall.

  4. 04

    After a year

4,310 kWh, well above the calculation of 4,100. They use a lot themselves during the day, because they both often work from home.

The layout

each panel 1.72 × 1.13 m, laid portrait
