How we work

Unhurried drawing,
swift building

From coffee at your kitchen table to the check twelve months after planting. Each step shows who visits, what it costs and in which week we deliver.

  1. 1

    Consultation at home

We visit for an hour and a half, walk the borders with you and listen. How do you use it, where is the sun, what must stay? Afterwards there's a rough sketch on the table; the notes follow by email.

    €145, deducted from the design
  2. 2

    Survey and sun study

We survey the garden precisely, with levels, the neighbours' trees and the shade through the year.

    within a week
  3. Narrow town garden seen from above from a balcony: a terrace of sawn grey natural stone under an oak pergola, stepping stones in gravel and borders with ferns and white hydrangea
    Surveying on the Singel
  4. 3

    Sketch design

Two versions on paper, with a proposal for materials and planting. At the table we choose the direction together.

    after two weeks
  5. 4

    Final design

We work up the chosen version: dimensions, materials list, lighting and a planting plan per border. With 3D images if you like.

    after four to six weeks

  7. 5

    Budget and schedule

One amount for the whole build, and what we do each week. Nothing gets added afterwards.

    together with the design
  8. 6

    Build

Our own gardeners do the groundwork, paving, timber and lighting. Questions? Go to Ilja.

    two to eight weeks
  9. Gravel garden by a white farmhouse: pale gravel beds with clumps of thyme, lavender and feather grass, a bench of weathered oak under an old pear tree
    Gravel on clean soil
  10. 7

    Planting

In the planting season we put every plant in its spot from the planting plan. You keep the plant booklet with care tips afterwards.

    mid-October to mid-April
  11. 8

    The first year

We come back to check after three and after twelve months. Whatever doesn't make it, we replace.

    one-year plant guarantee

When should you start?
