Why four coats?
- WoodBare and dry: moisture content below 18%.
- PrimerSalmon pink. Soaks into the grain so everything grips.
- UndercoatFills and levels. Then lightly sanded.
- TopcoatColour, gloss and protection from sun and rain.
On wood that is still sound, we skip coats. Coats that aren't needed don't appear on the bill either.
Come rain or shine
Outside we only lacquer when the weather cooperates. Otherwise it doesn't last as long.
- Above 7 °CBelow that temperature lacquer dries too slowly and grips poorly.
- Humidity below 85%In fog or drizzle we don't lacquer. Then we sand and seal.
- Wood moisture below 18%We measure the wood before priming. Wood that's too wet will blister later.
- After the dewIn spring and autumn we only start outside once the dew is off the wood.

- Garden and plantsWe cover up and move pots aside. Trim your hedges a few days before we start.
- KeyNot needed for exterior work. For interior work we agree a safe place together.
- Every dayRubbish taken away, scaffold safe, pavement swept.
A guarantee that stays
You get a 5-year guarantee on exterior work and 2 years on interior work, under the OnderhoudNL terms. Should anything happen to our company, your guarantee still applies.
The first step is a survey.
It costs nothing, commits you to nothing and fits into a morning. Saturdays too.
