New 3-metre dormer on a 1930s house. Weathertight in one day, completely finished after three.

The brief
Voorbeeldstad-Noord
Two children and one attic room with a sloping roof. The family wanted to turn it into two proper bedrooms, without moving. The dormer had to go at the front, so planning permission was needed.
Our approach
3 working days
We made the drawing and applied for permission. During the eight-week wait we pre-built the dormer in the workshop, with uPVC frames in the colour of the existing windows. On day one it hung from the crane and the loft was closed before five.
The result
Completed in 2026
On days two and three we finished the inside: plasterboard, window sills, skirting and a sliding cupboard in the knee walls. The loft floor now has standing height across its full width.
