About us

A family business in parties and food since 1996.

Founded in 1996Reinout, Paulien and Lieve

Started with one van

Reinout and Paulien started De Feestschaal in 1996 with one van and a rented kitchen. Thirty years later we cook in our own kitchen on Voorbeeldstraat, with a permanent team of twelve and sixty serving staff we train ourselves. Our daughter Lieve runs the patisserie.

Our first party was a wedding on a farmyard, with a buffet for eighty guests and a gas burner that gave up halfway. Reinout cooked the last dish on the neighbour's barbecue. Since then a second hob always comes along.

We've grown, but the way we work has stayed the same: we cook ourselves, with local produce, and whoever serves at your party knows the menu because they've tasted it themselves.

Who serves

And behind the scenes: eight permanent cooks and sixty serving staff we train ourselves.

  • Reinoutchef and owner

Has been at the stove since 1996, in every place imaginable: from meadow to church. Still cooks himself on Saturdays.

  • Paulienhostess and owner

Writes every running order, knows every venue in the region and is the one you call on the day.

  • Lievepastry chef

Their daughter, trained in Paris. Makes the wedding cakes, the dessert buffet and the petits fours with the coffee.

  • Xandersous chef

Runs the mobile kitchen and knows exactly how much power an oven, a hob and a coffee machine draw together.

Our kitchen

On Voorbeeldstraat is our own kitchen with a cold store, patisserie and a shed for the tableware: six thousand plates, four thousand glasses and three mobile kitchens.

We cook with vegetables from two local growers, beef from a trusted master butcher and sourdough from a baker down the road. Leftovers go to the food bank, or the team takes them home.
