Parties / Christmas dinner at one long table

What they wanted

The team works in shifts and almost never sees each other all at once. For one evening, everyone really had to sit together.

How we solved it

So one 32-metre table, right through the barn. No buffet to get up for: the platters went in the middle of the table and everyone served their neighbours. We kept topping up until nobody could eat any more.

After dessert the table was pushed aside and the barn became a dance floor.

The set-up

This is how it looked that evening, drawn as in our running order. It shows the cooks where the kitchen goes and the staff which route they walk.
