Frequently asked questions
About referrals, insurance and what to expect during a treatment.
Can’t find your question?
Email your question or call reception. During the day reception answers, in the evening one of the therapists.
Ask receptionAppointments and referrals
Can I come to you without seeing my GP?
Yes. You can book an appointment directly. We start your first appointment with ten minutes of screening.
What should I bring the first time?
Your ID, your health insurance card, sportswear that lets us see your knee or shoulder, and a towel.
How long does an appointment take?
45 minutes the first time, then 30 minutes each time.
Do you do home visits?
Yes, if travelling to us is too hard. Frederique cycles over anywhere in Voorbeeldstad.
Need to move or cancel an appointment?
That is free up to 24 hours before your appointment. Cancelled later? Then you pay the fee for a treatment yourself.
Insurance and costs
Is physiotherapy covered by insurance?
Your supplementary policy pays, up to the number of treatments it includes. We send in the bill ourselves.
Does physiotherapy count towards my excess?
Only if your treatment comes from your basic insurance, as with a chronic condition from treatment 21 or with urine leakage. Not from your supplementary insurance.
I am under 18. What then?
Then your basic insurance pays 9 treatments per complaint, and 9 more if needed. With no excess.
What if I run out of treatments?
We tell you in good time. You can pay yourself, or we look together at whether a few appointments spaced further apart are enough.
During your treatment
Does it crack?
Sometimes you hear a little click. That is gas in the joint, not bone. And it doesn’t have to: many techniques are calm and gentle.
Is a manual therapist a separate profession?
It is a master’s degree after physiotherapy training. Tirza and Gerben are registered as manual therapists.
When can I play again?
Not on a set date, but when the tests say so. After a cruciate ligament injury, we want to see at least 90 percent of your healthy leg on the hop test.
Can I also train with you?
Yes. After your rehab you can keep training independently in our gym for €39 a month.
Is there always an internal examination?
No. It can help, but it is never compulsory and we always ask first.
Can my partner or baby come along?
Of course. Your baby is welcome too; there is a playpen in the room.
When to call your GP first
With fever together with back pain, sudden loss of strength in a leg, numbness around your bottom or problems peeing after a fall: call your GP or the out-of-hours GP service. Not sure? Give us a quick call for advice on the best next step.
Book your first appointment
Pick a time. Reception confirms it the next working day. Doesn’t it suit you? Call us and we will gladly move things around.
